'Poles Reflections'  Encaustic-Wax on paper & board
In this workshop find out how this ancient and versatile medium can provide something for everyone from simple ‘craft’ type projects to more ‘fine art’ works. Basic painting techniques with layering, drawing, printing, writing, stencils, inlay, incising, scraping, collage, image transfer, shellac burn and mixed media will be demonstrated. Helpful resource notes on Encaustic-wax history, safety, equipment, tools & materials will also be provided.
Jacki would like to share her passion with this medium and suggests some research of other artists before the workshop, to help find out where your preference lies.
NOTE: The materials fee covers all equipment, heat tools, wax mediums and materials for experiments.

Students to bring their own rigid surfaces ( approx.10 total max. A4 size ) 1. Several 3 ply boards offcuts any shape ( Bunnings may still cut sheets ) 2. Some cheap canvas boards, heavy paper or card ( not shiny )

Optional items to bring  1. A couple pieces of tissue like papers, some small photocopied images (toner based, colour or B&W) or own sample art prints/ drgs on paper  &  little items or fabrics you would like to try out  2. Any carving, pottery, cutting, scraping tools, or heat gun ( not hairdryer ) if you already have  ( Jacki prefers using butane gas torches for less  power drain )
